Dr. Deanna McGaughey-Summers holds a PhD in Rhetoric and Composition, an MA in Sociology, and an MS in Administration of Justice. She has taught for nineteen years in several colleges and universities, as well as the Kentucky prison system and has taught online courses in Sociology and English for eight years. She is currently teaching full-time in the Sullivan University System in Louisville, KY.
Her research on sociological issues has appeared in more than a dozen academic journals, books, and textbooks that include Gender and Society, Journal of Offender Rehabilitation, Gaming Lives in the 21st Century, International Journal of Sexuality and Gender, Classic and Contemporary Readings in Social Psychology, and Sexualities. She has also served as a reviewer for textbooks that include The Dynamics of Inequality, Social Theory, and The Meaning of Difference.
