It is unfortunate how we may be conditioned to think that because a family member has this or that disease that we then are more prone to have that disease.
The more I’ve had the privilege of learning about body and nutrition, the more I realize how beautifully made our body is. The problem isn’t necessarily your genes, it is what you are exposing your genes to as well as what is being communicated to them.
I want to make clear that everyone and anyone can get sick. Everyone is prone to illness. However, what determines whether or not a disease develops are your diet, lifestyle and the choices that you make on a daily basis. This is what I would like to write about in today’s article.
I want you to know, to understand and fully believe that you are meant to be happy, full of energy and healthy. In order for you to be in this position, the way you view your body, your relationship with food as well as the choices that you make have to change. Don’t get fooled into thinking that you are destined to have type 2 diabetes or to be obese, for example. Instead, allow your genes and the diagnosis of your relatives to determine the kind of lifestyle you need to have in order to enjoy great well-being.
What do I mean with what I just wrote? What I mean with that last phrase is that if you have relatives with type 2 diabetes, for instance, that should indicate to you that you should have a different diet and lifestyle than that of your relatives. No need to feel condemned. The choices that you make do play a big role in your overall health. Allow your genes to let you know what kind of lifestyle to have!
The purpose of you making wise decisions when it comes to your health is to raise the quality of your life. Everything that you put in and on your body communicates to every cell as well as to your genes. Your DNA is shaped by what you feed your body as well as any vitamin and mineral it gets or lacks and they send messages to your DNA. This is how important your daily choices are to your health. Don’t take for granted the choices that you make every day!
One of the worse things that you can do to yourself is take your body for granted. Don’t wait until you are sick to start taking care of your body, start taking care of it NOW. There is no better time to take care of it like now. You are a total of what you have been doing every day. Every choice that you made, everything that you ate, everything that you fed your mind and spirit you are a total of all that. Remember that you are meant to have a life full of energy and health! Once again, allow your genes to determine the kind of lifestyle you should be having in order to increase your quality of life!
So I want to end this article by asking you this, what messages are you sending to your cells and genes? Are they messages of health and love or are they messages of illness and loathe? You choose. You have more power than you think you have.
